Cathy CaseCathy Case, RN, CFRN, EMT-P

Cathy didn’t start her nursing career right after high school in Lisbon Falls. First, she spent time in New York and New Jersey training race horses.

But eventually, her Maine roots began to call her back, and she returned to central Maine. When she was deciding on a career, the action of emergency medicine piqued her interest, so she enrolled at Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing to earn her nursing degree and then worked in the ICU and ER at CMMC. She went on to become a paramedic and began working with LifeFlight when it began service in 1998. She also volunteers with Lisbon EMS when she’s not at LifeFlight.

Recognizing the need to improve the chain of survival for brain injury patients, she became an instructor with the national Brain Trauma Foundation and has been recognized nationally for her work in improving the care of TBI patients.

When she is not on the helicopter, she likes to hang out with her two sons, and also finds time for photography, gardening and watching her son race motocross.
