Wendell StadigWendell Stadig, EraMED Lead
Field Maintenance Technician, Bangor

Originally from Soldier Pond in northern Aroostook County, Wendell joined the Marines after high school, but returned to Maine to work in the field of aviation mechanics. He had decided to move to Alaska when the career opportunity with LifeFlight opened up in 1998 and he’s been meeting the challenge ever since.

In addition to leading the maintenance team, Wendell developed and leads an annual statewide safety conference jointly sponsored with the FAA for all helicopter operations in every sector. He recently received the national Association of Air Medical Services Transport Mechanic of the Year award which recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the safe operation of medical transport vehicles.

Wendell lives with his wife Linda and his two children in Levant, where he likes to tinker with his 1951 Willis Jeep, a hobby he likes to refer to as helicopter therapy. The Stadigs also spend time outdoor, fishing, hunting, hiking and camping.
