INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER
LifeFlight of Maine (LOM), established in 1998, is a private nonprofit organization with a statewide public mission to assure the availability of a state-of-the-art critical care air medical transport system serving all of Maine with a special emphasis on increasing access to specialty and tertiary care for rural communities.
The LifeFlight Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and certification of aviation weather observation stations, runway cameras, radio systems, and IT equipment pertinent to the mission of LOM and LifeFlight Aviation Services (LFAS). Additional responsibilities include managment and maintenance of LifeFlight's facilities throughout the state of Maine.
Primary Duties:

Maintain, recertify, and install airport weather (AWOS) stations

Maintain National Airspace Data Interchange Network Interface with weather systems

Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain LFAS AWOS/Camera Website

Oversee the management and maintenance of all LifeFlight facilities

Serve as project manager for construction and maintenance projects

Support LifeFlight activities including supporting airport authorities, hospitals, and private landowners to provide cooperative inspection of aviation infrastructure and helipads.

Install/develop runway webcams working with FAA and within CFR 14 Part 77 guidelines

Maintain applicable frequency licenses with the Federal Communications Commission

Act as a liaison with airport managers regarding LOM maintained infrastructure

Maintain radio repeater sites

Program and train aviation crews on EMS radios (TDFM 9100 and various handheld and mobile radios)

Assist LOM Systems Integration Manager with LFAS/LOM IT projects

Aid in the maintenance of FAA 5010 database and helipad survey information

Transport supplies, aircraft parts, and equipment as needed throughout Maine in course of daily travels

Maintain system of documentation and repair logs

Establish and maintain the LFAS fuel vendor program
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

LifeFlight’s objective is to be considered nationally and internationally as demonstrating the
highest levels of safety, quality, and innovation. LifeFlight is one of three related organizations, including the LifeFlight Foundation (LFF), an independent nonprofit charity located in Camden ME which supports LifeFlight’s mission, and LifeFlight of Maine Aviation Services (LAS), located in Bangor ME which will provide LifeFlight’s aviation services with an implementation in 2021.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) assists the Executive Director (ED) and leads in managing all facets of the operations to assure implementation and accomplishment of annual goals and to fulfill organizational mission and objectives. The LOM Chief Operating Officer is part of a small high-performing team of physicians and clinical leaders and will work closely with the lead executives at the LifeFlight Foundation and LifeFlight Aviation Services to assure LifeFlight’s overall mission and vision.
The successful candidate requires a bachelor’s degree, with master’s degree preferred, in a relevant field along with significant experience in dyad driven organizations. Work experience will include at least three to five years of progressive management experience in a comparable healthcare organization. Clinical practice at a paramedic level and management experience in medical transportation is desired, however, any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
