3rd Annual Art of Giving Gala donates $2,000 to LifeFlight of Maine
LifeFlight of Maine was one of four beneficiaries of the 3rd annual Art of Giving Gala presented by Down East, the Magazine of Maine. This year’s gala was held at The Landing at Pine Point in Scarborough and featured four works of art donated by Maine-based artists. The art, valued at more than $10,000, is then raffled off during the event. In the spirit of giving, 100% of the net proceeds from raffle ticket sales are evenly split among the beneficiaries.
Ocean swimmers raise nearly $175,000 to support LifeFlight's training and education program
The Islesboro Crossing for LifeFlight, an open water fundraising swim, has been steadily growing since it started in 2013. At this year’s event, nearly 100 swimmers and their paddler escorts made the 3.1-mile journey across Penobscot Bay from Point Lookout Resort in Northport to the island community of Islesboro. In the process, they raised nearly $175,000 to support Maine’s only helicopter critical care transport service.
St. Agatha resident leaves $80,000 of his estate to LifeFlight of Maine
Despite never needing the service, Darold Trainor, from Long Lake in St Agatha, left much of his estate to LifeFlight, Maine’s critical care air ambulance. His close friend and personal representative, Norma Michaud, presented a check for $80,000 to the crew of LifeFlight during a recent trip to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
LifeFlight Medic Receives Next Step Maine Scholarship
Kyle Santosuosso, LifeFlight Paramedic, nominated by LifeFlight Executive Director Thomas Judge, received a 2016 Next Step Maine Employee of Promise Scholarship to support his pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Management at Anna Maria College.
